What is Shirodhara

The word Shirodhara translates to shiro (head) and dhara (flow)

Shirodhara is a unique form of ancient therapy were pouring oil on the forehead from a specific height for a specific period continuously and rhythmically allows the oil to run through the scalp and into the hair. The concept of Shirodhara is mainly concerned with the application of oil and other liquids (like milk or buttermilk) associated with specific clinical conditions. This treatment is considered to be divine as it gives a whole new experience and helps in relaxation. A massage is given to the head neck and shoulders in the process and when your session is complete you are given the oil that is remaining to use after your shower or whenever you want a little softness for your hair or skin. It is reccomended to shower the next day and to allow the oil in your hair to remain overnight before washing out.

.Shirodhara is a purifying and rejuvenating therapy designed to eliminate toxins and mental exhaustion relieves stress and any ill effects. It is very helpful for patients after a stroke. This therapy helps enhance the functions of the central nervous system as a whole.
